Devices:
There are two types of devices used to access the network.  The first is a standard PC Card that fits into any computer that supports a Type II interface.  The second device is the Portable Access Device (PAD) that can be access using a USB or standard RJ45 Ethernet interface.
Devices

Applications:
WARN, in and of itself, does not provide applications.  It can best be viewed as a way of performing all applications available on a users’ desktop, but anywhere coverage is available in the District’s geographical boundaries.  Typical user applications include:
  • Video applications (LiveWave, Greenhouse, VideoNext, Kapturenet)
  • Monitoring of DC Metro chemical and biological sensors
  • Tracking to of GPS enabled vehicles (I/Netviewer)
  • Access to traffic cameras (TrafficLand)
  • Search of criminal databases (WALES/VCIN)
  • HSMP Case Management
  • Remote report submission (FACTS/SunPro/Hazard Point)
  • Interagency coordination (CapWIN)
  • Email
