DCPS Reopen Staging

DRAFT VERSION, PENDING REVIEW

A safe and healthy environment for in-person learning is our top priority. We are utilizing a set of building readiness standards to ensure every facility is ready to welcome students back to a safe learning environment. These standards align with public health guidance issued by DC Health, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 when schools may reopen.

Using the dashboard below, you can review how a school is getting ready to reopen. DCPS will reopen elementary schools and education centers for Term 2 and only those buildings are included in this tool.

The dashboard notes the status of the seven items on a school’s building readiness checklist and also includes when a final safety walkthrough will take place. “Open” items mean that it is an open work order or deliveries are pending; “completed” means that the work order is fulfilled, or supplies are on hand or installed; and “inspected” means a Central Office or third-party review took place. You can also see when your school will have its final safety walkthrough.
